WS Capital Partners requested a conceptual landscape and fencing plan for a potential development in Markham, Ontario. The site had unique privacy and grading restrictions that required a thoughtful approach. We designed an aesthetically pleasing patio area in the back to permit the maximum space allowable based on local zoning by laws. The custom fencing and garden wall design reflects the high-end feel of this condo development in a prestige area catering to nearby business parks.
The intent was to create a personal and secluded feel to each unit’s entrance. The inspiration came from the personal garden spaces found in higher density English rowhouses in elite neighbourhoods. The low perennials, shrubs and climbing vines work to soften the vertical elements and make the space more welcoming and relaxing. Vines such as Baltic Ivy or Climbing Hydrangea are chosen for low maintenance, floral appeal and interesting texture.
A 3D model was created to illustrate the atmosphere of the development for an urban design report to council.
